from Second World War reminiscences of Mair Davies, page 82:

We would take our break in the [Royal Ordnance Factory] canteen and sometimes there would be a dance band and people would dance in the small space available. We would have concerts too. There were some marvellous singers, some played musical instruments and others tap-danced.
