from Louis Spohr's Autobiography, pages 116-117:

As I had written all manner of new things after I had completed the Opera, it had somewhat faded from my recollection, and I therefore thought I should be the better able to judge of it without partiality. Accordingly I was greatly preoccupied with the impression that it would make upon me. – The Rehearsal took place in a Saloon at the house of Frau von Heigendorf. After the first full rehearsal of Spohr’s opera “Alruna, die Eulenkönigin,”in Wiemar, 1808, Goethe requested significant changes to the libretto which would involve Spohr rewriting some of the music.
