Ignatz Moscheles in Leipzig - at the end of 1835

from Recent Music and Musicians, page 214:

We were invited to Wieck's to meet Schumann and others; Clara Wieck played in Beethoven's great Trio superbly. I went to the theatre to hear Auber's 'Cheval de Bronze'; but oh, misery! bad music, singers, and subject! What a pity to lose my evening, and be forced to pay dearly for my curiosity!
