At the Opera (the old house in Rue Lepeletier) I heard Christine Nilsson and Faure in Ambroise Thomas's Hamlet, but the ridiculous libretto, with the melancholy Dane's Brindisi and the Ghost's reappearance at the end (among other perversions) completely undermined my appreciative powers.
