The single song that I never tire of practising isn't one of mine, but Debussy's Je tremble en volant ton visage. I am undone not merely by the perfection of each measure (if not phrase is 'de trop', or misplaced, or slightly, atilt harmonically, perfection is still a cultivated and minor virtue, not indispensable to grandeur), but by the melting inspiration of every note.
