Ned Rorem in New York - 10 August, 1985

from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, page 584:

James Buswell's portrayal (as good a word as any) of Bach's unaccompanied Sonata, the one in C major with the giant fugue, is as satisfying as anything I've heard in ages: controlled yet ecstatic, massively gentle, sensible and accurate. It made me think of Bach, and my mind didn't wonder.
