Local première last evening of String Symphony in Carnegie Hall, preceded by mass dinner at the Fontana di Trevi hosted by Jim Kendrick... The piece now, under the sculpting baton of Robert Shaw, and after a half-dozen public performances, seems almost too slick for it own good.
