In April 1807, Mr. M. G. Lewis brought out, at Drury Lane Theatre, his romantic 
drama, called the "Wood Daemon." It was, unquestionably, a work of genius ; I
composed the music to it. It was brought forward with magnificent scenery, and was a favourite.
