Benjamin Britten in Lowestoft - 10 June, 1934

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 214:

Listen to a very fine performance of Don Quixote (Strauss) from Hilversum (Conductor:Van Beinum Cello: R. [Raphael] Lanes excellent). More imaginative than Walter's show - but not such good ensemble.
