Benjamin Britten in Lowestoft - 31 December, 1934

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 240:

Listen to whole of Die Fledermaus from Vienna Opera in evening. It doesn't come over too badly. What a lovely show! Kern was again marvellous as Adéle. And the orchestra!
