I went to the Goulds to see bits of Swan Lake on their television. [...] Ulanova is of all the dancers I have seen, Pavlova, Kavsarina, Tchernicheva at her best in the Donne adagio, the slowest: as slow as a sun rising, as a tree falling, as leisurely as a yawn.
