We arrived [in Naples] about 5 o’clock and at night went to the Teatro de Fiorentini, to hear the comic opera of Gelosia per Gelosia set to music by Piccini. […] so great is the reputation of Signor Piccini that every part of the house was crowded, and indeed this opera had nothing else to support it, as both the drama and singing were bad. There was however a comic character performed by Signor Casaccia a man of infinite humour. The whole house was in a roar the moment he appeared and the airs were full of pretty passages and in general most ingeniously accompanied. There was no dancing, so that the acts of which there were 3 seemed long.
