When Pasta came, later in the year, she produced Anna Bolena, an opera by Donizetti, in which another tenor made his appearance, Rubini, who soon became, and still continues, a great favourite. He possesses one of the sweetest of voices, of great flexibility, and is an excellent singer, but too fond of the over-florid style now so much in fashion. Lablache also performed in this opera.
