Thomas Ryan in Boston - in the middle of the 1800's

Mr. Hatton’s versatility was great. I remember an instance of it. One Saturday night in a Musical Fund concert, he played Mendelssohn’s D-Minor Piano Concerto,—that being its first performance in Boston. Later, in the same concert, he sang some comic songs.
