After dinner went to a great accademia at Mr. Hempson's an old English gent. where I heard Nardini, little Linley, the master of the house, who plays on the common flute in a particular manner, blowing it thro' a spunge - a person from Perugia who played on the viol d'amore - etc, etc, and saw a great deal of company - among whom was the famous improvisatrice Signora Corilla, with whom I had a good deal of chat.
