This evening my host and hostess gave a pleasant dinner party. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Spurling, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Wallace's sister, the Wallaces all being kindly Scots. Mrs. Mayhew's music in the evening was a great treat. She plays exquisitely.
