Sophie Augustine Leo in Paris - mid 19th Century

from Musical Life in Paris (1817-1848): A Chapter from the Memoirs of Sophie Augustine Leo--Part II, page 403:

Up to now, Liszt, Thalberg, and Halle have been his [Chopin's] worthiest successors. Since I have heard all of Chopin's compositions countless times from their composer himself, and, at the same time, have observed the three pianists just mentioned on various occasions from the beginnings of their careers to the present, I can say with assurance that Chopin exerted a decisive influence on the taste and style of these admirable artists.
