Precision of geographical locations

I think it might be useful to be able to enter more precise locations as free text - for example a specific London street/district in which street music was being played. Someone might want to use the database to research this sort of thing one day....Again I'm comparing with UKRED, where very specific addresses can be entered and thus searched (very useful for mapping the reading/listening experiences of a individual over a period) as well as vaguer places, example 'offshore in the Malay archipelago' (for shipboard reading/listening......)

Yes, this is something we will give some thought to. As you know, at the moment the 'locations' have to be selected from those suggested by the database - it's pulling data through from external datasets. But we do take your point about having a free text field for entering more precise locations - the address from the top of a letter, for example.
