I tried to submit an experience that I had in college that changed the place of music in my life. But the system would not accept my entry, apparently because the "source" is my memory. It seemed to require publication reference.

Yes, that's right I'm afraid. At this stage of the project we're concentrating on listening experiences that are already documented rather than personal memories written up for the project. We could look in future at gathering the kind of evidence you've tried to enter, but for the present phase of the project we undertook not to solicit or create new evidence, but to concentrate on gathering what already exists in publications, archives, etc.
