At that time also, at the wish of the Violoncellist Beneke, whom I frequently met at Quartett parties, I wrote a Concertante for Violin and Violoncello with orchestral accompaniment. Neither was this work ever published, and not even included in my list of compositions, as at the time I began to make that, I did not lay my hand on it, and indeed had wholly forgotten it.
