Jack Brymer in Tokyo - between 1971 and 1979

It probably went, I should say, about as far as the only other failure I ever had with it - Tokyo, on my very first appearance there with the LSO. André Previn, both soloist and conductor on the occasion, said afterwards, 'I was right to bring the boys in then, wasn't I? I felt sure you were never going to get to the top.' He was right - I was beginning to think I wasn't ever going to either.
