Ignatz Moscheles in Leipzig - at the end of 1816

from Recent Music and Musicians, pages 18-19:

The first concert I heard in Leipzig was given by Mlle. Sessi; the overture was played very steadily. I must make special note of the contrabasso-player Wach, because, with his force and energy, he seemed to keep the whole orchestra together.
