At one o'clock Mama and I went to the Conservatoire for the general rehearsal of our operas. Having seated Mama in the balcony with V. O. Yablonskaya, I went back down and after half an hour found my dear Lel, looking utterly ravishing. When the Snow Maiden rehearsal began I sat in the front row. Umnova sang Lel's aria neither badly nor well, but Tcherepnn made her do it again and this time it was not bad at all.
