Ignatz Moscheles in Augsburg - 1844
from Recent Music and Musicians, page 303:
I went to the theatre to engage some vocalists. They were just rehearsing 'La Clemenza di Tito;' to me too, the 'Tito' was 'clemente.' Vitellia smiled condescendingly, Sesto, in her costume (more becoming at a distance), claimed acquaintance as an old Viennese friend, while the chorus director embraced me, and Hummel's son offered me his services as accompanist.
