Wilhelm Ganz in Her Majesty's Theatre - 1856

I was present at Her Majesty's in 1856 when Johanna Wagner made her debut as Romeo in Bellini's opera, a part which suited her admirably. Afterwards I met her with her father, Albert Wagner, the eminent tenor, at a soiree at Countess Bernstorff's, when he asked me to accompany her in three songs: she was particularly charming to me.
