Sergei Prokofiev - 22 February, 20th Century, in the afternoon
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 22 February 1913, page 323:
From Myaskovsky I went on to the Ruzskys. Nikolay Pavlovich roared that I had neglected him and no longer loved him. I retorted that it was just the opposite: it was he who had fallen out of love with me; no sooner did I arrive than he would be off to Vilnius. We played the Ballade. Perhaps I was tired, but his performance gave me no pleasure. Stuffing the music back into my case, I went home.
