Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 9 March, 1913
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 9 March 1913, page 338:
The general rehearsal started at nine o'clock. There was not much of an audience to begin with, but later a respectable crowd turned up. The Fantasia and Kazachok seem to be fine, and Tcherepnin's numbers are also good. Tsybin's are mediocre. My own contributions over, I sat in the darkened hall with Umnenkaya* and Max. However, I then returned to the platform to conduct The Wedding, which this time survived without critical comment. Umnenkaya stayed sitting beside Max, continually drawing attention to the elegance of my appearance on stage.
