Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 11 March, 1913
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 11 March 1913, pages 341-342:
I met Natasha Goncharova, who said the usual things very pleasant to hear, and listened in her company to a female student of Nikolayev. Then I went to the opera class, because the imminence of the production, even though it is only to piano accompaniment, seriously demands attendance. We went through Act III of Faust. I am not very familiar with this music, and although I was conducting, I was mainly concerned with listening, absorbing and committing to memory.
