At half past nine I came to orchestra class but, as might have been expected, the orchestra consisted of three students and so was dismissed until the autumn. Tcherepnin talked at length to us about orchestration, and then Dranishnikov played his Variations, a mish-mash of styles brilliantly laid out for the piano and totally lacking in individuality.
