When Tcherepnin and Dranishnikov had gone I discovere that there was to be a public performance of chamber music involving those pianists who had gained 5+ in their exams. I decided to wait for this and telephoned Max to let him know. Zakharov played well, but with a certain lack of boldness (Franck Sonata); Rabinovich with authority and conviction. Zeiliger was good.
