Sergei Prokofiev - 12 May, 1913

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 12 May 1913, page 404:

Next I conducted the Introduction and Dance of the Maidens from Shaposhnikov's ballet The King's Feast. It sounded all right with all its tricks of orchestration, but musically it is thin stuff. When this was over I had finished my stint on the podium, so went to find Zore, and because there was no seat free next to her made her come back to the fourth row with me. There we sat until the end of the concert and throughout the presentation of diplomas. Motseikevna* played quite well, but went wrong a few times, much to the alarm of Glazunov, who was conducting.
