Bashkirov came for a lesson, stayed to dinner, and we went together to the chamber music concert in aid of the field hospital the Conservatoire has established. The programme, consisting of performances by teachers at the Conservatoire, was deadly dull; Bashkirov yawned from boredom, I slightly less so.
