in Palace Theater, Columbus, Ohio - 20th Century
from Jazz Anecdotes, page 209:
As I was standing in the wings, Louis announced that he was going to play Tiger Rag. Since some of the audience still thought he played a trick horn, he had a local trumpet player come up and play it first. Then the band started out, and I never heard a man blow like that in my life! He hit two hundred high Cs, and they counted them as he went around the stage, and he ended on a high F!
