in Royal Festival Hall - late 20th Century
from Southbank Centre Archive:
1. Being taken with a friend, by his mother, to Saturday morning concerts and developing a love of music which continues to grow. 2. Celebrating my 21st with my future husband at a concert and dinner afterwards in the wonderful restaurant. 3. My daughter and seven friends from a "bog standard comprehensive" playing Shostakovich Octet in foyer of Royal Festival Hall before going on to win the prize for "outstanding performance" in Youth and Music Festival.
