from Southbank Centre Archive:

It was the spring of 1968 and a school trip was arranged on a Friday afternoon to the Royal Festival Hall to hear Grieg, Sibelius and God knows what else but it was all new to me but exciting as if I had found a hidden world and it was probably one of the moments in my life that forged my career in the arts!
