Many Meltdowns - particularly Elvis Costello and Deborah Harry forgetting the words to The Tide is High - Patti Smith playing flute to Rock the Casbah - ballroom parties with The Slits and Martha Wainwright - and seeing the New York Dolls in the main hall - felt like a big piece of history.
