William Holland in Over Stowey - 22 December, 1805
from Paupers and pig killers / William Holland, page 125:
A full Congregation and the Singers had their New Instruments from London for which I subscibed one guinea. I was very satisfied with the Instruments they had before but Mr Tom Poole introduced the Business and then subscribed only half a guinea. I do not approve of this mode of picking money out of my pocket.
