Went to rehearsal again with Myaskovsky, and we were joined at Tsarskoye by Volodya Deshevov. I was stupid enough to travel without an overcoat; it was unbearably cold and before going on to play I warmed up with gymnastics and a glass of rowanberry vodka. I asekd Aslanov to make more of a pause before the second movement: after the exhausting cadenza it is physically impossible to go straight on and play the even more demanding Scherzo.
