Sergei Prokofiev in Moika River Embankment, Saint Petersburg - 28 November, 1913, at night
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 28 November 1913, page 553:
I went to Apollon. There was a large crowd of musicians and artists there, among them many I knew and was happy to see. Debussy, accompanied by the Koussevitzkys, arrived late. He was welcomed by a speech from Chudovsky, in French of such arcane refinement that I could understand very little of it; some of it may have been beyond Debussy himself. There followed a stammering address from Sacchetti. Polotskaya-Yemtsova played Mussorgsky's Pictures from an Exhibition and Anna Grigorievna, who was extremely nervous, sang two of the same composer's songs.
