in Royal Festival Hall - 1951

from Southbank Centre Archive:

I remember standing in queue for tickets to hear Artiero Toscanini on his visit from America sometime in 1951.  In the same year or perhaps 1952 standing at the rear of the stalls in order to see and hear the magic of Sir Thomas Beecham conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
