Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 4 February, 1914
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 4 February 1914, page 596:
At two o'clock I played through my Concerto with Dranishnikov in the Conservatoire. Naturally, reading from manuscript for the first time and up to speed, he was far from impeccable, all the same he is a splendid accompanist and I am happy that I chose him. I know I can be pretty impressive in the Concerto, and Dranishnikov was bowled over by it; I am counting on its having a similar effect on the judges.
