in Royal Festival Hall - the 1950's

from Southbank Centre Archive:

Primary school visits to Ernest Read concerts on Saturday mornings. Always sitting in the same seat at the back of the Auditorium on the right. A particular memory - Vaughan Williams tuba concerto! The soloist played the Hancocks Half Hour theme first.
