It was July 14th 1951. Still doing my National Service I was able to get home leave and visit the Royal Festival Hall to see the first Jazz Concert held at this venue.
With HRH Princess Elizabeth (as she was then)in attendance.
Nine New Orleans Jazz Bands and Compere Deryk Guyler.
JAZZ HAD FINALLY RECEIVED IT,S
SEAL OF APPROVAL.
