in Royal Festival Hall - 1950

from Southbank Centre Archive:

In 1950 I was a member of the London Philharmonic Choir and I can remember vividly singing in this wonderful new concert hall in one of the inaugural concerts "The Sea Symphony" and Vaughan Williams came and rehearsed us. What an experience, and what a memory and many many more for years to come.
