Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 25 February, 1914, at night
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 25 February 1914, page 608:
Seryozha Alpers and Nikolayev both performed in this evening's concert; this is the first time Nikolayev has been seen in the Conservatoire this year. Seryozha Alpers has the makings of a serious pianist, he posseses very good instincts although he is still prone to make a hash of things at times.
