Sergei Prokofiev - 30 October, 1916

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 3 November 1916, page 148:

The next day I was very interesting to hear some of his [Rachmaninoff's] songs. The latest cycle, to words by new poets, is sheer delight. Nina Koshetz, who sang them, is an artist meriting the closest attention. But she was so unbearably full of herself at the Ziloti supper party afterwards that I could not avoid getting at loggerheads with her. We exchanged a few caustic remarks.
