The whole world without exception had elected to come to my concert: Rachmaninoff, Medtner, Koussevitzky, Cooper, Balmont, Mayakovsky, Borovsky, Igumnov, Koshetz - in a word le tout Moscou, musically speaking. I was told it was a long time since such an audience had been seen. Exaggerated remours subsequently circulated to the effect that some frightfully important person or other had not been able to find a seat.
