Sergei Prokofiev in Omori Ota, Shinagawa, Tokyo - 24 July, 1918
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 11 [24] July 1918, page 306:
Ariadna the Magnificent has left her mark in this little corner as well: walking in the garden I came across a taciturn Italian whistling themes from Boris Godunov. This he was doing in memory of a Russian lady with whom he had fallen in love. Apparently she had played him Boris Godunov and then left for America. The lady's name was Rumanova.*
