Two more rehearsals today and then the evening concert in Carnegie. The hall was full, which is unusual for an Altschuler concert. The first item on the programme was Rachmaninoff's E minor Symphony, which I heard with great enjoyment. At the end of the performance the composer, trying to hide behind his wife, was identified and made to stand up and acknowledge an ovation.
