Sergei Prokofiev in New York City - 22 February, 1920
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 22 February 1920, page 478:
Stella arrived at three o'clock for her 'first lesson'. But she had done no preparation at all, having failed to find a copy of the Bach I had set her. She demonstrated her technique to me; needless to say, it is in a sorry state of disrepair. I explained some exercises I wanted her to do. The lesson lasted a quarter of an hour, after which Stella stayed a further two hours with me.
